Water Wall

What does Water Wall Mean?

Definition of Water Wall in Construction

Water wall is an architectural feature that is, in many cases, located in a prominent public space. A water wall is the flowing of water over an architectural surface, such as stone, tile, masonry surfaces, etc. that allows the material that is beneath the water to show through the flowing water. In most cases, the bottom of the water wall is a reservoir which is located to collect the water as it flows down from the water wall. The water in the reservoir is then pumped back to the top of the water wall to complete the circuit. In many cases, the wall is illuminated from the back, or the front, to further enhance the aesthetics of the feature. Unfortunately the water wall concept, many times falls victim to the financial savings associated with value engineering, and although designed, is never constructed.
