UTC (Uniform traffic controls)

What is UTC (Uniform traffic controls)

Definition of UTC (Uniform traffic controls) in Construction

The term UTC or uniform traffic controls refers to the established national uniform traffic controls that have been developed for the entire nation. The UTC has established uniform traffic controls such as roadway markers, signs, signal devices that are intended to control and guide the traffic on the highway or the street. The UTC will establish all the regulations for the signs that convey the speed, traffic patterns, weight allowance, etc. that are required on the construction project or on any adjacent street or highway. In addition to signage or items that are installed on the perimeter of roads, the UTC will also designate the type of roadway markings that are required to be painted on the actual road surface. The UTC is a consistent construction element that is mandated by all states and is normally consistent throughout the US.
