What is SWL (Single White Line)?
Definition of SWL (Single White Line) in Construction
Although the term SWL means single white line, this abbreviation is in many cases a consistently repetitive questionable description, on a site document. Unless the abbreviation is actually looked up on the document index, if there is one, it always has a tendency to confuse, even the most seasoned contractors and interpreters of construction documents. Like the abbreviation for a double white line ( DWL ), the SWL abbreviation is too simple to be remembered. All it basically identifies is the painting of a SWL (single white line) on the pavement, or the any other hard surface. Normally the site plan will be the document that will include this abbreviation.
