Definition of Project Manager in Construction
The project manager is the primary individual who is specifically assigned to a construction project, to manage and oversee the project. The project manager will in many cases, be assigned to the field, to lead the superintendent and any assistants involved in the project. In other management situations, the project manager may run several smaller projects, from the main office. The project manager is responsible for all of the activities that are involved with the management of the project. All of the submittal processes, as well as the job meetings, etc. required to properly manage the project is the responsibility of the project manager. The term is sometimes used to describe the actual company that has the responsibility of being the construction manager on a project.
