Power Vent

What is Power Vent?

Definition of Power Vent in Construction
The use of a power vent accelerates the removal of exhaust fumes from a mechanical heating source. Furnaces, boilers, hot water heaters can all have power vents that allow them to vent their exhaust through shorter lengths of flue pipe which may consist of a PVC tube. The use of a power vent to accelerate the exhaust venting, has increased the efficiencies of heating units, and has allowed better and easier placement of these types of equipment. With a power vent, a boiler can be placed almost anywhere in the structure, as long as the venting can be discharged to the exterior through a wall or roof.
