Permit Expeditor

What is a Permit Expeditor

Definition of a Permit Expeditor in Construction

A permit expeditor is a company or individual that is fully acquainted with the entire permitting process, within a large city, such as New York City. It has become physically impossible for a contractor to attempt to apply and obtain the permits required to legally construct a project within a large city. A permit expeditor is paid a fee to complete all the forms, meet with all the individuals requiring project review, pay all the fees and secure all the permits. The position is extremely important to the success of any major construction project within a large city, and the cost of a permit expeditor is automatically added to the cost of the project. The permit expeditor is a relatively new position within the construction industry.
