A Munter unit is a specific piece of equipment that is custom made to accommodate the removal of humidity from a large area.
These units are used in large supermarkets, ice arenas, or any other type of large area where humidity control is paramount in the proper functioning of the structure. The Munter unit is normally installed on the roof or exterior of the building. These units require substantial space for the auxiliary equipment necessary to allow the Munter unit to properly function. Fans and other equipment are assembled on racks adjacent to the actual large Munter unit, which looks similar to a large box car or cargo box. The installation of the Munter unit is normally the responsibility of the mechanical contractor on the project.
