Definition of Hardscape in Construction
Hardscape is a term that refers to all of the hard surfaces that surround a construction project, such as the drives, walkways, patios, etc. The term hardscape is a modern term that has been established to distinguish the hard sitework areas, from the landscaping areas or the actual building footprint. Due to the popularity of various types of hardscape materials such as brick, concrete pavers, stone pavers, stamped concrete, etc., the design of the hardscapes surrounding a project, have taken on an importance similar to the landscaping environment around the projects.
