What are Gas Whips?
Definition of Gas Whips in Construction
Flexible gas whips that are used to connect the primary, rigid gas line to a gas appliance. The use of flexible whips requires a swivel if the connection is to an appliance that has wheels or a rigid connection if the appliance is positioned on stationary legs. Gas whips are normally custom ordered to accommodate the length required to properly set the appliance in the proper location within the structure. In many cases the final connection to a piece of equipment also requires a gas whip. This whip is normally shorter than the ones used for appliances and connect the stationary piece of equipment to the hard piping of the gas lines.
