Flush

What is Flush

Definition of Flush in Construction

The term flush is used in the construction industry to indicate a cleaning or scouring of water, sewer or other type of transmission line for liquid. To flush a line is normally meant to clean the line with high pressure water that is inserted in a clean out, within the pipeline or at the beginning of the line. There are specialized companies that flush lines to remove sediment and blockages within the line. In many instances these same companies provide a video surveillance service that videos the interior of the line, to identify any issues that could have caused the blockage. Flushing lines is a common occurrence with water companies and will result in the user of the domestic water to visually identify a darkening or muddying of the water due to the flushing operation. This characteristic will dissipate in time and is only a temporary condition due to the flushing of the lines.
