Any material that is forced thru a system to form a special shape such as, aluminum, asphalt, concrete, plastic, etc.
The term extruded, is the process by which an element is forced by mechanical means, into a mold to produce the shape identified by the outline of that mold. Extruded curbing, extruded aluminum shapes, extruded plastic or polyethylene shapes and components are extensively used in the construction industry. Extruded aluminum window mullions and jambs are important to the storefront assemblies used in so many retail and commercial projects. Aluminum structural elements to form and create the framework of projects, buildings, awnings, etc. are all important to the construction process. Extruded shapes are important to the architectural as well as structural design and integrity of a structure.
