Egress Corridor

What is Egress Corridor

Definition of Egress Corridor in Construction

This is a corridor or hallway that has been designed to accommodate all of the safety and building code requirements of an exit corridor or hallway. In most instances the walls and ceilings of these egress corridors are required to be fire rated, properly ventilated and in some cases, sprinkled. The locations, quantities and lengths of the properly designed egress corridor must comply with all of the safety and building regulations. The design and subsequent approval of these egress corridors is the responsibility of the architect on the project.
