Definition: What Does the Term “Crushed Concrete” Mean?
In most areas of the country, concrete that is part of a demolition project is brought to a crushing plant that will crush the concrete, separate the rebar and sell the resultant product for various uses.

In the south, where rock is not plentiful, the use of crushed concrete is important for the establishment of roadbeds, temporary roadways, building slab stabilization and site dewatering. The use of crushed concrete spread over wet areas, will have the tendency to absorb the moisture and stiffen the sub-base.
