Container Grown

What is Container Grown ?

Definition of Container Grown in Construction
This is a landscaping term that describes plants, shrubs and trees that are grown in containers, in lieu of directly in the ground. This technique is a common technique for landscaping products and eliminates the need to, bag and burlap, the root ball upon digging up the product from the ground. The negative issue with container grown material is that the roots can become too intense and long, causing the root ball within the container to become root bound. Landscape architects will specify their preference regarding the status of the plants and their method of growing the plants, shrubs and trees. Container grown material is a common method of landscaping material distribution to the homeowner, due to the ease in transporting the landscaping material by the homeowner.
