This references a sprinkler head that is designed to remain retracted, usually up, within the the ceiling. The concealed head normally has a cover that will drop away upon activation. This type of sprinkler head is designed to drop down below the surface of the ceiling upon activation, and to ensure that the sprinkler is clear, to distribute water. The use of concealed heads are normally within conference rooms or any high end ceiling installations. They are more costly and more labor intensive to supply and install. Normally the cover of the concealed sprinkler head is white to match the ceiling and basically disappears in the field of the ceiling tiles or surface.
